Digital Aperture and Moving Objects in Aerial Photography
Drones such as DJI Inspire 1, DJI Phantom 3 advanced were working with an electronic diaphragm. When you take a picture of an object in motion, or an object while the drone is in motion, there may be distortions and distortions in the object or the background of the object, which we call distortion. For example, when you take a picture of a moving vehicle, the tree or lamppost in the background may bend to the right or left. New generation drones like the DJI Phantom 4 pro have a mechanical diaphragm, so you can avoid one of the most annoying problems we talked about above. Especially in burst mode, your probability of experiencing this problem is minimized even at 75km/h, the final speed that DJI Phantom 4 pro can reach.
Aerial Night Long Exposure and Wind
One of the problems experienced is the loss of clarity and distortions experienced by the wind in long exposures that we all love, especially in night shots or in the blue time zone. Of course, it is also very important to capture the correct values such as exposure time during long exposure. You can overcome this with many programs such as Adobe Lightroom cc, but even retouching a photo you will print may not be enough. That’s why we recommend that you take pictures in a windless weather. Especially if you are going to take photos from an altitude of 50m and above, your job will be more difficult.
Aerial Raw Photo Capture and Memory Card Speed
One of the most common problems, especially when taking a jpeg + raw or just raw photo, is that immediately after pressing the record button, we think that you have taken the photo and saved it, and move on to adjusting the next frame. Since the recording process is not finished yet, some of the photo may be black, and there may be problems such as overlapping several areas of the photo. In order to avoid this problem, your memory card must have a very good write speed. In some cases, it may not be enough for your memory card to be in class 10 category.
Aerial Photo Shoot Against the Sun
If you don’t have an ND filter suitable for the drone you use, which we call Natural Density, your job is very difficult. Thanks to the fact that you can interfere with the mechanical diaphragm in the DJI Phantom 4 pro series, you can do great work without an ND filter, but you definitely need to use an ND filter on older drones. Thanks to the ND filter you will have, you can adjust according to your frame rate setting to capture the correct shutter speed in video shooting. Otherwise, your shutter speed will hover around 1/1000 in daylight while you shoot 50fps.
